A culmination of Sony’s metal technology, the D8 aims to provide the
stability and reliability demanded by the QG series of 8mm data cartridges
High Density Alloy (HDA) magnetic particles allow for stronger metal
particles protected by a dense, uniform oxide layer, resulting in high data
integrity.
Sony’s exclusive Oliglomerless Binder System features more long polymer
molecules and fewer short oliglomers, creating a structure which is more
durable.
5GB (native) are packed onto this 112-metre tape using PET base film, a
technology which has proven itself for outstanding durability.
The cartridge case is made of highly durable polypropylene, reducing
cracking and chipping.
